You are creating an account in the Equal Edge mobile application (“App”) operated by Equal Edge U, Inc. (“Service Provider,” “we,” “our,” “us”). Your college or university (“University”) is participating in a pilot program with Service Provider to evaluate the App for long-term use and efficacy (“Pilot”). By enrolling using your University-provided email address and agreeing to participate in the Pilot, you are agreeing that certain information you provide through the App may be shared with your University as described below. Please read the following disclosures carefully before proceeding.

1. What the App Does

The App provides planning, task management, organization, and reminder functionality for informational and educational purposes.

2. User Content

“User Content” includes any data, content, or information you submit, create, or generate through your use of the App. User Content may include data that identifies you personally. More information about the types of User Content provided to or collected through the App and how we typically collect, use, and share such information is described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Data Sharing with Your University

By using the App and agreeing to participate in the Pilot, you consent to our sharing your User Content—including your personal information, usage, and analytics data—with your University. Once received, your University will continue to keep your User Content confidential in accordance with its privacy policies, applicable laws, and its agreement with us. For more information regarding your University’s privacy practices, you can review your University’s privacy policies or contact your University’s privacy officer. We will have no further responsibility for your User Content once your University receives it, and your University will be solely responsible for User Content once we provide it to them.

4. Your User Content May Become Student Data

Your User Content may be reclassified by your University as student information or education records (“Student Data”) under certain applicable state and federal education laws, such as the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Your University may use such Student Data for internal educational, administrative, and research purposes, such as in connection with the Pilot, for supporting you as a student, and as otherwise permitted or limited by applicable laws. If your User Content is reclassified as Student Data, your University’s policies will apply to your rights and the University’s obligations regarding that Student Data, and your University will be solely responsible for any information in its possession that is Student Data.

5. Record of Consent

We will maintain a record of your consent to share your User Content with your University for the duration of the Pilot and for one year after its expiration or termination, or longer if required by law.

6. Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

In addition to this consent, your use of the App while participating in the Pilot is subject to your consent to and agreement with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which are presented to you separately from this consent.

7. Voluntary Participation

Your participation in the Pilot is voluntary. If you agree to participate in the Pilot and change your mind later on, or if you no longer wish to share your User Content with your University, you can terminate your account at any time by using the account settings in the App or contacting support@equaledgeu.com.

8. Termination of the Pilot

The Pilot will last for a period of time as determined between us and your University, either through the end of the academic semester or academic year. When the Pilot ends, we will notify you and, in our discretion, give you the option to continue with your current account, create a new account, or delete your account. At the expiration or termination of the Pilot for any reason, User Content shared with your University will be retained in accordance with the University’s policies and applicable law. User Content in our possession will be retained and deleted in accordance with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and this section.
